High Back Swivel Chairs
No ride at any theme park can rival the feel of high back swivel chairs. Okay, maybe that’s not entirely accurate, but just try reconciling your invoices on the “Regurgitator” and you’ll agree that high back swivel chairs are way more functional at least. For most of us spending time in an office chair is not something we have a choice in. An inordinate amount of time in modern times is spent in a sitting position typing away on a keyboard and reading the latest blog or product review. (Hopefully written by me). Believe it or not there are comfort and safety precautions to be followed when spending a lot of time sitting. We’ll address both in this article and help you make a better, healthier choice in high back swivel chairs. For comfort you can’t beat two aspects of high back swivel chairs; tilt and lumbar support. Tilt has to do with how far back you can adjust the lean back option. Having a little give in your chair is a great thing in that when you need to kind of stretch back a bit, rub your eyes and go back to playing solitaire until five o’clock hits. Lumbar support is a great option to have to support the lower back and keep you from getting a back ache later on. Doctors all agree that having a chair adjusted to the right height not only keeps one from getting a back ache, but promotes heart health as well. I know, what does sitting on your tookus have to do with your heart, right? Sitting at an angle that will cut of circulation at the waist (even a little) makes the heart work harder and is just a bad idea. The proper height for your chair is one in which your thighs are parallel to the floor. Or maybe where your knees point a little down to and to the front. Going the other way, if you adjust the height of high back swivel chairs so that your feet no longer touch the ground you are not achieving anything at all. Rather you are cutting off circulation to the bottom on your legs and causing more of the same issues. Poor circulation also has another side effect; fatigue. It’s bad enough you have been bored silly all day, poor circulation adds to it all. Wheels are another concern, especially with high back swivel chairs used at home. Often they will scuff up a wooden floor and tear up carpet. One option as far as both goes is to have a rubber or plastic mat for the area you will be using your chair in. Believe it or not, you will also gain a little cushion for your back as well. That and protect your floor. High back swivel chairs can range in price from $30-$40 to upwards towards a couple of hundred depending on what you are looking for and where you buy it. Of course, as always, looking around online if you don’t have a high back swivel chair emergency is always going to be less expensive and provide you with more options in the end. High back swivel chairs are not like shoes, you really do not need to try them on before purchasing. Just remember when ordering one to make sure it is fully adjustable. If you can adjust height, tilt and lumbar you should do fine in tailoring the chair to fit your needs. Good luck in your chair quests and happy sitting! |
